Integrative Counsellor & Psychotherapist

About Me and My Practice

I’m a fully qualified Integrative Psychotherapist and Counsellor offering a creative, authentic, and collaborative approach to counselling and psychotherapy. I am BACP accredited and working toward UKCP accreditation.

I work with adults, both in-person and online, from early mornings through late afternoons on Tues/Wed/Thurs.

Perhaps you’ve arrived at therapy through a sense of feeling “stuck”, a traumatic life crisis (past or present), or something else entirely. Whatever your reasons, I admire your decision to seek help, as taking the first step can be difficult.

I am American by birth and a Londoner for more than two decades. I value an open, direct approach underpinned by genuine warmth and care. Our sessions are a non-judgemental place for you to bring all aspects of yourself – even those you may have previously kept hidden, whether consciously or unconsciously.

My approach is integrative, meaning I draw on numerous ‘schools’ of therapy and psychological theory tailored to my client’s needs at any time. (My training is primarily Psychodynamic, Gestalt, Existential, and Humanistic). How I work will be slightly different with every person.

Alongside talking therapy, and depending upon the client, we may utilise creative modalities, including mindfulness, breathwork, visualisation, imagery, archetypes, dream exploration, movement, journaling, and art materials. By bypassing the ‘rational’ mind, these creative practices can often unlock and powerfully shift things in ways that talk therapy alone cannot.

Experience

I have experience working with a wide variety of physical and emotional issues including:

● Anxiety ● Panic attacks and depression ● Grief and bereavement ● Pregnancy loss ● Body image issues ● Loneliness ● Suicidal ideation ● Sexual assault and trauma ● Lack of motivation ● Low self-worth and low self-esteem

I am especially interested in life transitions, such as:

● Career change ● Pregnancy ● Divorce ● Midlife ● Retirement.

I am LGBTQ+ friendly.

I welcome you fully and look forward to walking alongside you on your therapeutic journey.

Qualifications and Training

PGDip, Centre of Counselling and Psychotherapy
Foundation, Counselling and Psychotherapy, Regents College.
MA, Columbia University School of Journalism, Health & Wellness

In addition to my private practice work, I have also worked at HQ Therapy, Headstrong Counselling, and Fresh Start Psychotherapy. Previously, I supported individuals via NHS Islington, the Maytree Respite Centre (clients experiencing suicidal ideation) and Choices Islington (clients facing unplanned pregnancies and new motherhood). I regularly undertake continuing professional development through workshops and courses in my field.

Fees

£80 per weekly 50-minute session.

I invite you to book a free 15-minute phone call without further commitment. We’ll use this time to chat informally and discuss what’s bringing you to therapy at this time and what you hope to gain from the process. Please contact me via email to arrange a time.
