About Me and My Practice
My name is Becca. I’m a Clinical Psychologist, which means I am trained to support people with different hopes, goals, and difficulties, by using a wide range of therapies. I feel passionately about tailoring the therapies I use in a transparent way, for us to agree on a therapy plan together to help meet your individual needs. I strive to create a warm, thoughtful, and compassionate approach.
Depending on which area you would like support with, some of the therapeutic approaches I use are compassion-focused therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, narrative therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, and dialectical behaviour therapy. I also use trauma-focused approaches, including eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, narrative exposure therapy, and trauma-focused cognitive behavioural therapy.
Whether you are hoping to work on a specific area, or to get help in understanding more about yourself and your experiences, please feel welcome to reach out for an initial conversation. If you would like to continue sessions after this, we will talk in more depth about what has brought you to therapy and agree on a plan that feels right for you.
Experience
I have over ten years of practise working with adults, children, and young people experiencing a broad range of difficulties. These include trauma, anxiety, stress, low mood and depression, phobias, emotional and behavioural problems, relationship struggles, loss and bereavement, and adjusting to life changes including health diagnoses.
Alongside my private practice, I currently work in a dedicated NHS service for displaced populations, including for refugees. Prior to this, I worked in specialist NHS teams for children in care and in women’s health psychology services. These experiences mean I have additional specialist skills in working with trauma (including birth trauma), birth phobia, loss, parenting, and antenatal and postnatal support for individuals and couples.

DClinPsy (Doctorate in Clinical Psychology) – Royal Holloway, University of London
MSc Investigative and Forensic Psychology – University of Liverpool
BSc Psychology – University of Liverpool
Additional Training
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy
