Kwame Djaba

About Me and My Practice

Hello. My name is Kwame.

I’m a qualified Integrative psychotherapist dedicated to supporting individuals on their journey to mental wellness. I have worked with clients from all walks of life, helping them navigate challenges including trauma, anxiety, depression, identity and more.

As an Integrative psychotherapist, I utilise therapeutic theories and processes from different schools of thought including Person Centred, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Psychodynamic Therapy, to tailor the process to best meet your needs. I believe in empowering my clients to become active participants in their healing journey, fostering resilience, growth, and self-awareness.

Therapy can be described in various ways – an exploration of the past to help shed light on and understand the present, a way to free oneself from the bonds of past experiences or to process who and how we are in the context of our relationships with others and ourselves.

Although all of the above and more can be true, I believe therapy will always be a personal experience and will depend on your individual circumstances. My role is to walk alongside you as you navigate your difficulties, helping you develop coping strategies, support networks and discover your inner strengths.

My view is that there really is no one-size fits all approach to therapy. So instead, I seek to understand you as an individual and delve into the topics you wish to explore.

My approach is rooted in understanding the intersection of mental health, race, culture and ultimately whatever connects you to you. I offer culturally sensitive therapy that respects each person’s lived experience, whether they stem from racial trauma, identity conflicts, societal pressures or more.

I provide both short-term and long-term therapy and sessions are usually 50 minutes in duration. This can be accessed either in person or online. Therapy is typically weekly but this can be discussed based on your personal needs and goals.
